flow rates

S (slow) flow nipples tend to work better when:

baby is a newborn
baby has not been introduced to other bottles
baby struggles with choking and gagging when nursing or using other bottles
mom’s milk production tends to be low
baby uses a slow- or extra-slow nipple of a conventional bottle brand

F (fast) flow nipples tend to work better when:

baby is older than six months
baby typically consumes more than 4 ounces in a single feeding
baby is used to a conventional bottle nipple with medium flow rate or higher
baby has adapted to a mom with a stronger letdown and more forceful flow of milk.

M (medium) flow nipples work best for babies in between.

How often should I replace mōmi nipples?
For baby's safety, we recommend replacing silicone nipples every three months (or sooner, if they show any signs of damage.)
